How to fly custom battles/missions

Introduction. Playing custom battles and missions are easy to do with our simple system. All battles and or missions created for the OSF SG are made with names as not to interfere with the original created missions of the game. If it is found that a mission of any battle on-line has a discrepancy where the mission name will overwrite an original mission of TIE Fighter, then report this error immediately with out fail. Any pilot file submitted against a mission with this error will not be accepted.

Installation. Here is a simple procedure for installation. First download the battle and or free single mission. Next open the zip file and install the appropriate files in their respective directories as Listed below:

  • Files to be placed in the TIE Fighter directories:
  • \MISSION (Directory) - B1M1FM.TIE*
  • \RESOURCE (Directory) - Battle1.lfd
  • \CP320 (Directory) - xwing.int**
  • \CP640 (Directory) - xwing.int**
    • (* Note #1: mission files should be renamed as not to overwrite existing original files. This will be required. If not done in that format then it will either be returned to the creator or changed when corrected.)
    • (* Note #2: this is for those custom battles/missions that require the use of ship patches needed in order to fly an alliance craft in TIE Fighter.)

Alternate. There are and will be times that you will download an approved battle/mission that will require you to fly another craft other than Imperial (i.e. A-Wing, X-Wing, etc). Another words any of the available current alphabet fighters from the NR. You can download from this office the files needed to fly these custom battles/missions. There will be the files needed for both TIE Fighter Disk version (must have DOE), and a package file for TIECD and TIE95.

Have fun and enjoy playing the custom battles/missions. As always if there are any problems feel free to contact this office. Happy Hunting!
