Defense Office

All Strike Garrison Battle and or Free Single missions must contain a storyline. This can either be done in a notepad or word format and should be included in the zip file along with all other files necessary to fly a custom OSF battle/mission. The storyline guidelines are presented below to help aid those who are attempting to create their own battles/missions.

1. Format for storyline:
• Name: Name of battle or mission created
• Missions: Amount of missions applicable to the battle, or 1 for Free Singles
• Platform: Type of game platform used (i.e. TIE Fighter, XvT, XWA)
• Creator(s): Name of the creator(s) (i.e. ID # and ID Line). If more than one creator then list them here as well.
• Installation: Here you will describe the install procedures needed to play the custom battle/mission. Files that should that should be included with your zip files are listed here along with instructions on where to place those files in order to aid those flying the custom battle/mission.
• Files to be placed in the TIE Fighter directories:
• \MISSION (Directory) - B1M1FM.TIE*
• \RESOURCE (Directory) - Battle1.lfd
• \CP320 (Directory) - xwing.int**
• \CP640 (Directory) - xwing.int**
• (* Note #1: mission files should be renamed as not to overwrite existing original files. This will be required. If not done in that format then it will either be returned to the creator or changed when corrected.
• (* Note #2: this is for those custom battles/missions that require the use of ship patches needed in order to fly an alliance craft in TIE Fighter.
• Storyline: Here you will add the storyline pertaining to the battle/mission. This should be written with regards to the OSF. Should be atleast 1 or 2 sentences describing the story behind the mission(s). You may include if you so desire the objectives of the mission(s) (this is optional). Should you decide to write a descriptive storyline and add all the mission info, etc. you will get the satisfaction of knowing that your description will help those flying the mission. This helps those flying the custom battle/mission to better understand the story behind it
• Copyrights and Disclaimers: The below line must accompany all storyline descriptions regardless of the size. This will be listed on the bottom end of the document at all times. If not the new battle/mission will be rejected back to the creator. Line to be included is as follows:
  • This Battle/Mission of TIE Fighter is not made or supported by Lucas Arts Entertainment Company. The only support given is that of the Orion Strike Fleet. Report any errors found to the Defense Office.
• Signature: As with anything else your ID Line should also be added to the bottom of the document. This should also include any other creator or helper with the battle/mission so the appropriate credit can be awarded by the SND.
